New Mexico Board of Dental Healthcare New Rule Changes

(Posted: 02/05/2017)
On January 27, 2017 the NM Dental Hygienists' Committee voted to eliminate the local anesthesia clinical board exam requirement for graduates of  an accredited dental hygiene program that meet certain requirements. A written regional board exam remains a requirement for licensure.
New definitions and rule requirements were adopted for 'Mobile Dental Facility' and 'Portable Dental Unit' and apply to providers offering services outside the traditional dental office.
More information on both of these changes will be available in the next few months at the New Mexico Board of Dental Healthcare's website. Click here for more information.
