NMDHA Shines The Light on Lindsey Lee!

(Posted: 08/06/2022)
Lindsey Lee RDH, MS, LPN has worked in almost every facet of dentistry since she started as a dental assistant in 2000 in Oregon. After a handful of years working chairside, she started working as front office manager. In 2007 she was accepted into Pacific University’s Bachelor of Dental Hygiene Program. Ms. Lee moved to New Mexico in 2009 and shortly after began her Masters in Dental Hygiene at the University of New Mexico (UNM). After earning her Masters, Ms. Lee began working at UNM as a clinical instructor and later taught General and Oral Pathology, Medical Emergencies, Dental Anatomy, and Dental Materials. With the wonderful guidance from the senior faculty at UNM, Ms. Lee was able to present at multiple local and national conferences and publish articles in Dimensions of Dental Hygiene.

Ms. Lee also has worked with Dr. Craig T. Steichen, since 2009. Dr. Steichen’s office specializes in general dentistry, but also advanced surgical implant cases, sleep-related breathing disorders, and treatment for TMD and chronic pain management. To broaden her scope of practice within these areas, Ms. Lee continued her education and earned her practical nursing license through Brookline College. Ms. Lee still happily works with Dr. Steichen and as adjunct faculty at UNM. She also manages two dental practices and a dental med spa, working as both a nurse and dental hygienist.

Ms. Lee has always had a passion for teaching dental hygiene students as well as helping clinical dental hygienists excel in their profession. With 20+ years in dentistry, experiencing the polar realities of working as a clinician and as a manager, Ms. Lee has first-hand knowledge of what is necessary to create a happy, vibrant, and productive dental team, as well as a fulfilling dental hygiene career. She is currently working on a continuing education courses focused on coaching dental hygienists how to accelerate their career.

NMDHA salutes Lindsey Lee as she moves ever forward in the profession of dental hygiene and overall healthcare. Ms. Lee is yet another example of the many paths a dental hygienist can take to broaden their horizons. NMDHA is very happy to see Ms. Lee share her drive with other hygienists she comes into contact with, inspiring them to reach their full potential!
